In July we found out
that we're expecting a baby brother or sister in March. Know
what that means? That's right! Kayci's gonna be a BIG SISTER!!!
She is so excited, and she's got the T-shirt to prove it!

Because Kayci slept in her own bed for
14 days, she earned a special surprise - her very own fish!
We went to the smelliest pet store we could find and she picked
out a purple and pink Beta. Despite A LOT of pleading and prodding
from Mommy and Daddy, she still insisted on naming the fish
"Tody," which coincidentally rhymes with Cody (king of Kayci's
imaginary friends.)
One month in and the fish is still alive.
That might be a record.

Kayci got a late birthday present one
afternoon in the mail from Aunt Peggy. A BIG box was delivered
containing a Disney Princess armoire that came with a Little
Mermaid dress, dress-up shoes, a tiara and a pearl necklace
that sings.
This photo was caught mid-tea party.
Luckily you can't see that Daddy is wearing a Cinderella dress
and the tiara.

Kayci got a swing from
Nana and Dan for her birthday. After weeks of rainy weather,
Daddy was finally able to hang the swing from a huge oak tree
in our back yard. Kayci has always loved swinging at the park.
Now that part of the park lives at home, life is good for Miss
Kayci!!!

This is Kayci running
and swinging like Superman. The kid is a little daredevil.

One Sunday we were
headed back to Brenham from Houston and decided to be impulsive.
So we turned around and headed for the beach. We had been promising
Kayci ever since the spring that we would take her to the beach
this summer and never quite got around to it.
This was Kayci's first trip to the beach.
Well, technically she had been once before when she was a year
and a half old. It was in March, kinda chilly and we only put
her toes in the sand for a minute. But this was her first time
to actually play in the water. She had an idea in her head
about what a trip to the beach would be like, complete with
building a sand castle.
Mommy lounged on the beach while Daddy
and Kayci played in the sand and the water. We had a great
time, but Kayci was disappointed that it was Galveston and
that the water was brownish green, smelled a little like dead
fish and the sand was so itchy and managed to get everywhere.
This is a photo of Daddy and Kayci digging
their feet into the sand. |

Kayci started her second
year of dance class in August. This is her first day of class
and apparently the class is working on their auditions for Soul
Train.
The blonde girl two kids in front of Kayci is Savannah, one
of Kayci's friends who is also in her class at school. They're
having SO much fun! |
|
| Happy Kayci after dance
class. Since her dance class is at 5 in the afternoon this year,
Daddy gets to come see Kayci dance, which seems to make her happy. |
