Kayci had her 4th birthday party at the Blue Bell Aquatic Center. Everyone enjoyed swimming, ice cream and beach ball cupcakes that Mommy made - until the weather turned ugly. We moved the party inside to open presents when they closed the pool. Don't worry - Kayci made sure that despite the weather, all presents were opened.

Kayci opened a beauty shop in her room one evening. She painted everyone's nails - including her own - did everyones hair and did our makeup.

You'll never see those photos on this site, so don't even ask.

We took Kayci to Chuck E. Cheese's one evening to celebrate her 4th birthday. Here, you can see her taunting Chuck E. Cheese and showing him what ended up being the number of times she would kick him in the crotch with her shiny, shiny sandles.

One of the things we love about our life in Brenham is that we have instant access to beautiful countryside. One Sunday we decided to have a picnic after church. We drove out to Independence, the original site of Baylor University and picnicked under a huge oak tree.

This is Daddy and Mommy on the tree. Kayci took this photo. She's really quite the photographer. Just look at the framing - the photo is wide enough to capture just enough of the tree and ground, the horizon is more or less level and she's even learning to use the rule of thirds. This kid's talent amazes me more and more every day.

This is a family portrait on our family picnic, taken the way most of our photos are - with Daddy streching out his long monkey arms and snapping away.
